Well, we have the most overrated/underrated weapons skins, so why not make a thread about the most under utilize skill in the GW!. Also suggestions of usage and technique to maximize its effect.

Format:
The most under utilize skill in GW imo is ________ . Then state why.

This is mine.
The most under utilize skill in GW imo is the ele skill mark of rodgort.
Most fire ele i played with doesnt take advantage of this wonderful skill.
why you say? It spreads out the most valuable degen : Burning.
People probably did not recognize this but a.net lowered the energy cost from 25 to 15, and also made it an AOE unlike before only one target is hexed. Also the burning last for a scorching 20 secs or so at lvl 16 fire.

Combine this with SF, Savannah heat or fire bow barrage/splinter ranger youve got permanent burning. Heck you can even wand them to death with a fire wand or a fire staff.

Also, combine with the spirit greater conflagration to spread the fire dmg even more.

P.S. ranger with apply poison with a fire bow can dish out 8 degen. WOW.

*joshyan had pointed out this skill indeed only has 4 secs of burning duration, however that is sufficient time to spam fire dmg to have infinite burn.

Nice idea for a thread, but I think you have wrongly judged the mark of rodgort skill. Most people I know use this skill with their fire ele's. My most successful character to date (Sados Pendragon - nearly 2 years old) is an ele who has utilized this skill to the max, as it offers great degen against fleshy creatures and also works well in PvP.

However, your description of the skill is not accurate. Yes the energy has been reduced from 25 to 15 points, but at level 16 the skill lasts for 34 seconds, and sets the target and all adjacent enemies on fire for 4 seconds each time they are hit woth fire damage.

Your suggestion to combine it with a barrage/splinter ranger could however be useful

The most under utilize skill in GW imo is Rez Sig. Then state why.

Seriously, especially in RA.

Please guys, don't bring a hard rez (unless you're a mesmer with fast casting up to a decent level) and at the very least bring a sig.

I will through out a monk skill cause there isn't one yet. Healers Covenant. Cause its only good with a Healer boon backup monk and then using arcane mimic. Relying on a 2nd person and a wasted skill slot=failure elite ^^. As for it bieng "e management" Channeling>this elite

really good skill for hard mode, helps alot.

edit: its all nearby foes, not adjacent. and the numbers on it are 5e 1c 20r. (crappy outdated guru icons)

I also liked taking it as a n/rt healer and have the other take the usual ashed in ha. (sorry i haven't done it in forever and forgot the name...protective was kaolia..i think?)

I think Whirling Axe is the most under utalized skill. About +15 damage per hit, and only costs 2 adrenaline. This makes it easily spammable, and can really deal out some pressure. don't think I've seen anyone use this in a build :-\

Sure it's not in a great attribute line for dervish but at 8 Earth Prayers combined with vital boon it's all the healing you need. Cast VB then SoPL and since SoPL instantly recharges immediately when it removes an enchantment, cast it again. that's a 298 point heal in about 3 seconds. Not to mention if you remove a second enchantment with the second SoPL you can activate it again.
